Information About Joining Our Team

Second Wind Counseling is a small private practice committed to a compassionate and effective therapeutic approach. At it’s core, Second Wind focuses on providing an environment of encouragement, compassion and understanding to help each client attain the growth and changes they want to achieve.

 

Common Treatment Focus Areas Include:

  • PTSD

  • Complex trauma

  • Relational/attachment trauma

  • Medical trauma

  • Reproductive trauma (Pregnancy/Birth, as well as Loss/Termination)

  • Fertility Challenges

  • Prenatal and Postpartum

  • Anxiety

  • Phobias

  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem

  • Codependency

  • Healing from all types of abuse (emotional, physical, sexual, neglect, etc)

  • Athletic/Sport/ Equitation/Creative blocks

At Second Wind Counseling, Clinicians have the opportunity to integrate innovative therapies, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting, into their practice to enhance the healing process. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who are looking to work with their ideal client in a part time private practice capacity, but do not wish to deal with all of the business sides of a private practice or do not wish to take the risk of setting up their own office.

 

Second Wind Counseling currently offers therapy services in-person and via telehealth. Available shifts include: weekday evening and day time (in-person or remote) or weekend shifts (remote only at this time).  

 

Clinical supervision is provided to all associates, and consultations are offered to all clinicians. In certain circumstances, Second Wind Counseling may arrange for contracted Outside Clinical Supervision to be provided to Associates who are looking to get tailored experience or specialize in specific areas of focus.

 

Compensation:

This position is paid hourly with a bonus structure.  The pay range for team members ranges based on clinical experience, case load size, licensure status, if clinical supervision conducted by a Contracted Outside Clinical Supervisor, professional development desires, performance evaluations, and time employed with the practice. Other benefits include: 1-2 paid hours of admin time each week, sick leave and support in professional development. Associates and Licensed Clinicians are eligible to receive bonuses.

Required Qualifications and Certifications/Skills Sets:

  • Seeking LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW or APCC, AMFT, or ACSW interested in growing in private practice

  • Associates must have obtained their BBS Registration Number and be in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

  • Motivated Individual with a take initiative approach who understands the work that goes into being successful in a private practice setting

  • Organized with good time management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications/Skills Sets:

  • Previous training in or interest in getting trained in EMDR, Brainspotting other Trauma Focused Practices or Internal Family Systems

  • Experience in or interest in working with adults and teens, depression/anxiety, eating disorders, fertility challenges, postpartum depression, athletes and sports performance, or first responders/military (preferred but not necessary)

  • Seeking LPCC, LMFT or LCSW interested in working with TRICARE Clients 

  • LMFT, LPCC or LCSW interested in working with First Responder EAP Panels
