Second Wind Counseling is a small private practice committed to a compassionate and effective therapeutic approach. At Second Wind Counseling, Clinicians have the opportunity to integrate innovative therapies, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting, into their practice to enhance the healing process. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who are looking to work with their ideal client in a part time private practice capacity, but do not wish to deal with all of the business sides of a private practice or do not wish to take the risk of setting up their own office.

 

Second Wind Counseling currently offers therapy services in-person and via telehealth. Our main office is located in Vacaville, close to Travis Air Force Base so experience and a strong interest in working with Military and/or Spouses is ideal! Additionally, many of our clinicians are "Approved Non-Network Providers" with Tricare and able to support our military clients, and families, in getting partial to full reimbursement for services. 

 

Clinical supervision is provided to all associates, and consultations are offered to all clinicians.

​​Required Qualifications and Certifications/Skills Sets:

• Seeking LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW, APCC, AMFT, or ACSW interested in growing in private practice

• Experience in or interest in working with first responders/military (though we support non-responder and non-military populations)

• All Applicants (Licensed or Associate Level Clinicians) MUST have completed training in either EMDR or at least Brainspotting Phase 1 prior to start date.

• All Applicants must be willing to see 8-10 clients weekly.

• Associates must have obtained their BBS Registration Number and be in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

• Motivated Individual with a take initiative approach who understands the work that goes into being successful in a private practice setting

• Organized with good time management skills

• This position requires clinicians to be responsible for your own administrative tasks include collecting, tracking, and recording client payments, balances owed, and informed consents and other documents. 

• This position requires clinicians to complete own networking, marketing, consultation calls and be the primary point of contact with established and prospective clients

 

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications/Skills Sets:

• Interest in gaining further experience and training in EMDR, Brainspotting, or other Trauma Focused Practices or Internal Family Systems. 

• Experience in or interest in working with adults, couples and teens, trauma, eating disorders, fertility challenges, postpartum depression, athletes and sports performance, or first responders/military

• Seeking LPCC, LMFT or LCSW experienced and interested in working with our TRICARE Clients to see Military clients and Spouses

 

Specific Clinician Positions:

• Currently looking to fill the following clinical positions with either an Associate or Licensed Clinician​

  • Associate or Licensed Clinician with some evening or weekend availability​

  • Clinician willing to work and see clients in-person in Vacaville on Saturday, Sunday, Monday (all day) or Tuesdays and Thursdays (7:00am - 4:00pm) - Please note you would have flexibility of your schedule, but right now, we have an increase of referrals seeking in-person only options and these are the days we have office availability in Vacaville.

Compensation and Benefits:

• This position is paid hourly (Base Wage) with a bonus structure. 

  • The pay range and bonus structure for team members ranges based on clinical experience, case load size, licensure status, if clinician is seeing private pay clients or insurance-based clients, and performance evaluations.​

STRUCTURE FOR BONUS

​PRIVATE PAY REVENUE BONUS: The following bonus split percentages apply to revenue received for Individual Therapy Sessions performed by Associate/Licensed Clinicians paid for directly by the patient or other non-insurance provider:

• Average Associate Bonus Split Percentage: (Associate Clinician Percentage/Practice Percentage)

  • Caseload of 1 - 4 sessions per week: Up to 29/69 Split, minus Base Wages paid

  • Caseload of 5 - 13 sessions per week: Up to 39/61 Split, minus Base Wages paid

  • Caseload of 14 + sessions per week: Up to 49/51 Split, minus Base Wages paid

• ​Average Licensed Bonus Compensation Split Percentage: (License Clinician Percentage/Practice Percentage)

  • Caseload of 1 - 4 sessions per week: Up to 50/50 Split, minus Base Wages paid

  • Caseload of 5 -12 sessions per week: Up to 60/40 Split, minus Base Wages paid

  • Caseload of 13 + sessions per week: Up to 61/39 Split, minus Base Wages paid

• As an example, only: 

  •  Associate Clinician performs 14 Individual Therapy Sessions during a two-week pay period that generated $2,040.82 in revenue for the Company.  Clinician receives $280.00 in Base Wages during the pay period (14 hours * $20.00).  At the 49% bonus percentage split, the total bonus paid to the Associate Clinician would be $1760.82 ($2,040.82 (revenue generated)* 49% (percentage) - $280.00 (Base Wages paid).   Associate Clinician receives total pay in the amount of $1,000.

  • Licensed Clinician performs 10 Individual Therapy Sessions during a two-week pay period that generated $1,666.65 in revenue for the Company.  Clinician receives $200.00 in wages (10 hours * $20.00).  At the 60% bonus percentage split, the total bonus paid to the Associate Clinician would be $799.99 ($1,666.65 (revenue generated)* 60% (percentage) - $200.00 (Base Wages paid).   Licensed Clinician receives total pay in the amount of $999.99.

 

INSURANCE PAY REVENUE BONUS: The following flat rate bonus amounts apply to revenue received for Individual Therapy Sessions performed by Associate/Licensed Clinicians paid for by insurance:

• Associate Clinician Bonus:

  • Caseload of 1 - 4 sessions per week: Up to $15.00 per Individual Therapy Session

  • Caseload of 5 - 13 sessions per week: $20.00 per Individual Therapy Session

  • Caseload of 14 + sessions per week: $30.00 per Individual Therapy Session

• Licensed Clinician Bonus:

  • Caseload of 1 - 4 sessions per week: Up to $35 per Individual Therapy Session

  • Caseload of 5 -13 sessions per week: Up to $40 per Individual Therapy Session

  • Caseload of 14 + sessions per week: Up to $50 per Individual Therapy Session

• The flat rate bonus shall be paid in addition to Clinician’s Base Wages.
